Technical Education Training


Kevin was raised in a hands-on, do-it-yourself household, where he acquired foundational construction skills early on. During his college years, he gained practical experience working at a prominent home improvement retailer, deepening his knowledge of building materials and techniques. After spending over ten years in the construction and home improvement industry, he transitioned to the insurance sector, focusing on disaster recovery efforts and mentoring new employees to enhance their effectiveness in the field. Currently, as a technical education trainer at Alpine Intel, Kevin is responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive training programs and educational content aimed at equipping insurance adjusters with the expertise needed to navigate complex claims efficiently and accurately.​

Jay Dykstra

Technical Education Manager
Jay Dykstra is the technical education director at Alpine Intel, a leader in providing actionable insights to professionals across the property, auto, liability, and workers’ comp insurance fields. Jay is responsible for the development, presentation, and curation of technical education and continuing education offerings. He conducts more than 100 presentations annually, including industry conferences, proprietary live sessions, virtual events, and large open webinars with thousands of attendees.   The content of these ranges from HVAC fundamentals to advanced topics covering both residential and commercial HVAC equipment, as well as all types of electrically powered equipment and components, such as solar power systems, main breaker panels, well pumps, water heaters, and numerous engineering and fire origin and cause topics.   Prior to being the technical education director for Alpine Intel, Jay was a senior property learning facilitator for a top 10 property insurance carrier. Jay also has extensive experience as an outside property claim representative, handling both personal lines and commercial lines claims as well as traveling across the country on catastrophe duty.
